Welcome to NC! Here you'll find the combat system.

In combat, there are basic forms of attacking, defending, and moving. These forms are generally inferior to jutsus, but can be useful at certain times, or to certain ninjas.

Basic Physical Attack

A Basic Physical Attack is an simple physical attack from the body, either a punch or a kick. 1 chakra is required to be the most basic of punches, which deal only 1 damage. More chakra can be put in to do more damage. Putting in 10 chakra will allow for the punch to deal 10 damage, and putting 100 chakra will allow for a punch to deal 100 damage. This is a ninja's basic physical attack. The damage can be increased with the Strength stat.

Base Physical Attacks can be negated with defensive jutsus.

Basic Physical Defense

A basic physical defense is a form of defense that blocks against physical damage, preventing ninjas from being harmed, at the cost of chakra. 1 chakra is required to block 1 damage. To entirely block a physical attack that deals 100 damage, 100 chakra is required. However, Basic Physical Defenses will not work when a barrier is being used.

Basic Speed Movement

Basic Speed Movement is movement powered by chakra. It is, in essence, a dash powered by chakra and cannot change directions. It can only be done when a foot is touching something solid. It is also referred to as Instant Movement, for the more powerful ninjas are capable of moving so fast, that the travel seems instantaneous. 1 chakra is required to move 1 meter, at a rate of 1 meter per second. 100 chakra is required to move 10 meters, 10 meters per second. 50 chakra is required to move 5 meters, 10 meters per second. 50 chakra is also required to move 10 meters at 5 meters per second. As you can see, extremely speedy movements require a ton of mana. However, Basic Speed Movement allows one to move in any direction, and is useful for dodging what is normally incapable of being dodged without magic. Speed can increase the movement speed but not the distance.The formula for Basic Speed Movement is Chakra = Distance (meters) * Speed (meters per second)

Body Flicker

Body Flicker is a technique all ninjas can use. They move forward 5 meters and through solid objects that are one layer thick by paying 10 chakra. It is usually used to attack enemies, but can also be used in combination with something else for escape.

In combat, it is also very important to remember where to place your hits on an enemy. You will find that some spots of the body will deal more damage than other places. You can land a blow that could end the fight in a instant. Or maybe you prefer to chip away at them by taking away certain options in combat. These are known as critical hits. Critical hits will occur whenever a certain body part is struck with any sort of attack. Of course the damage is dependent upon the type of attack used. (Piercing, Blunt, Slashing) These hits are an important part of any fight, as they deal massive damage to your foes, crippling them, incapacitating them or even killing them. Focusing in on an opponent's weak spots can be the key to victory.

These different body parts in which one can get a critical hit on are listed below.

Arms and Legs

The arms and legs of the body can be very vital in terms of combat. However depending on the wound it is not life threatening. Of course there are several parts in the extremities that can cause bleeding out, but in the Naruto universe it has been seen that one can take massive damage to a limb and continue fighting. However, this doesn't mean they are immune to losing a limb or one being broken. All damage done to these parts of the body is halved.

Hands and Feet

The hands and feet are not vital parts of the body, though they are important ones. However, due to the lack of important functions in the hands and feet, the amount of damage dealt when striking hands or feet is cut in fourth for the receiving ninja. They are still important because if hit here enough this body part can be crippled and hinder movement or combat. Would be hard to strike with a broken fist or move quickly with no foot. Damage does not mean certain doom but can be harmful in the long run.

Head

The head is an extremely vital part of the body. The brain, the control center of all your functions is located there. As such, it is one of the most important parts of your body. This can be extremely dangerous or even deadly to be struck here. Depending on the attack one can even be rendered unconscious in an instant especially if the brain is struck. Any attacks dealt to the head will deal double the damage to the mage that receives the attack.

Neck

The neck is not only a vital part of the body, but also a fragile one. it is what connects your head to the rest of the body. Several important arteries and nerves run through this part of the body. One slight cut could mean certain doom if the right part of the neck is hit. As certain arteries and nerves bleed without control rendering one unable to fight effectively. When one's neck is struck by an attack, the damage taken is even greater than that of taking a blow to the head. Being struck on, in, or around the neck means that you will take 4 times the damage.

As you can see, some parts of the body may score you more damage, while other parts are just a bad idea to attack in general. This also is important to remember when defending against an attack. Perhaps, defending with a hand will protect you from taking a huge hit to the neck. In terms of combat guard yourself accordingly and use defenses correctly. Not all defenses cover every part of the body.

These damages only apply to other player ninjas. They do not apply to NPC and special requests.

Combat Dice!

If you want to do something combat-y, you have to roll the combat dice (same way as the Spinner.) and rules:

1: Punch =  deals half damage, kick = deals quarter of the damage, weapon = deals third of the damage
2: Punch = deals third of damage, kick = deals half the damage, weapon = deals third of damage
3: Punch = deals quarter of damage, kick = deals third of damage, weapon deals third of damage
